![]() I am on VPN practically every day for privacy, business and. However, maybe its time to switch things up a little bit. I was pretty happy with Cyberhost and what it offers. TLDR Don't use a server from: USA, Russia, Singapore, Australia and Hongkong (China). Yeah I had the exact same issue as you, CyberGhost gives insane high ping and when I tried using it for gaming it just didn’t work the VPNs I would reccomend is either ExpressVPN or PrivateInternetAccess they have good ping and are great for gaming in my experience and other peoples ExpressVPN has better ping but less. People keep recommending me to switch to NordVPN but I was always hesitant to do that. ![]() Please also note that using CyberGhost for downloading copyrighted content is illegal and an abuse of our service. In the list of servers you will find directly to a server name a yellow exclamation mark, if the respective server is blocked for P2P/Torrent traffic. ![]() Please use a different server from a different country then if you need to use a P2P client. The VPN makes sure that none of your activities is ever stored or recorded, whether you’re connected to a regular server or a Netflix one. To ensure complete anonymity, the VPN also offers a strict no-logs policy. However, we do have Premium servers that allow the use of P2P networks - except those in countries where we are forced by providers to block torrent traffic: USA, Russia, Singapore, Australia and Hongkong (China). CyberGhost is located in Romania, away from the 5,9,14 eyes alliance, meaning that the VPN is extremely privacy-friendly. We think this is traffic that unnecessary slows down the Free service and we want to keep the “lines free” for people that need a Free VPN to access and surf the web. I read all sort of sources (because many are manipulated) I judged by their privacy policy too, and I know how laws in Romania are and I know that this is how CyberGhost is one of the safest VPNs out there. None of the current P2P technologies are illegal per definition, but we have to block P2P protocols on our Free servers due to strategic reasons. I dont know if I understood well but you say you dont trust cyberghost with your privacy. But if you need something to torrent with, this program is not for you.ĬyberGhost really let me down because I heard great things.I super late to this but didn't find an answer I liked so here you go: However, if you want to just surf the good ole' web, it works well enough. I've used the program for a few days and I'm going to get a refund as soon as humanly possible.Ĭomplete joke and a complete waste if you were looking to torrent using this specific VPN. The download wouldn't even start.ĬyberGhost does have an option for torrenting servers specifically, but they're always "busy" and they use the term "too popular" as if that's some sort of excuse. Not the best ratio, but certainly doable considering. I was trying to torrent a UFC event that I happened to miss recently, 500+ seeders and 200+ leechers for a 720p recording. I've left torrents running for 10 minutes to see if it would get the metadata after awhile, but absolutely it did not.Įven by bypassing a hash check, the speeds were so slow that it basically isn't worth it. For me personally, it would never retrieve metadata, which is already pretty bad. I am on the copyright limit of my ISP, so I really needed this program Cyber Ghost to work.įor what CyberGhost is claimed to be is a farce. I purchased it HOPING I would be allowed to torrent safely without being pestered by companies looking for the 20 dollars at max that they lost when they made millions. So, I have tried to use this VPN for awhile.
